Vortex Flowmeters
Vortex Flowmeters

Compact flowmeter whose operating principle is based upon Vortex principle. Accordingly, a von Karman vortex is deliberately created downstream of the sensor body, that is the liquid flow generates local vortexes on both sides and these ones are further straightened out by the mainstream flow. This vortex "rectification" is actually proportional to the flow speed of the fluid.Every vortex creates a slight negative pressure that is detected and properly amplified by a high capacity pressure, which is then transformed into an electric impulse. The signal converter converts the electric impulse signal into a standard output signal. The special sensor design makes it possible to eliminate vibrations by means of a primary compensation. As a result, no more adjustment is necessary for the device or the zero point.
Those necessary input and output lengths can be shortened by means of a special flow rate diaphragm.
Application for the following fluids:
- liquids; gases;- overheated steam;- saturated steam.
Fields of application
• Mechanical engineering- Chemical industry- Petrochemical industry
- Thermal energy supply- Power plant industry.
The complete measuring unit consists in the following main parts:- SensorThe sensor can be delivered for rated pipe diameters: DN 15 … DN 300. Stainless steel connection flanges. Mounting of "sandwich"-type sensors onto DN 15 … DN 150 pipes can save noticeable space. The flanges can be mounted by means of an installation kit that centres them automatically onto the respective pipe (only as optional delivery).
- TransducerAll the functions of the device and process parameters can be selected and modified using just four keys. Every function can be individually selected using the operator menu and the local indicator. The devices can be also remote-controlled from a portable terminal box, through HART protocol (available only as supplementary option),
