Ultrasonic flow-meters have been designed to measure the flow rate in industrial applications dealing with quite a wide range of liquid fluids, either electrically conductive or not, including corrosive liquids. The application field of ultrasonic flow-meters is linked to several functions in practically all industrial processing lines. With ultrasonic flow-meters, flow values are measured from transit time difference between ultrasonic waves travelling within measured fluid in - and against flow direction.
Ultrasonic flow-meters noticeably stand out by their high measurement accuracy, excellent long-term stability on a wide range of measured values, low hydraulic pressure loss and easy maintenance.Ultrasonic flow-meters are delivered with optional configurations according to customer particular requirements. The attached control unit supply the necessary power to the ultrasonic sensors, processes the captured signals from sensors and makes it possible to display the measured values on to the flow-meter screen. The measured values are also optionally available as adequate output signals.
major AdVANTAgEs:
- high measurement accuracy;- long-term stability on a wide range of measured values;- high reliability, with practically no maintenance requirements;- low hydraulic pressure loss;- optional long distance measured data transfer.

5. Portable Ultrasonic Flowmeters
Ultrasonic flow-meters use ultrasonic signals to measure fluid flow by help of the so-called transit time method. Ultrasonic signals are at first emitted by a transducer mounted on one side of the pipe, after which they are reflected onto the diametrically opposite side of the pipe, and finally are captured by a second transducer. These signals are alternatively emitted in - and against the flow direction of the fluid.
As the fluid through which signals travel keeps on flowing steadily, the transition time of signals travelling downstream is shorter than the transition time of signals travelling upstream. The transition time difference is measured and makes it possible to determine the mean flow speed of the fluid within the travelling zone of the ultrasonic signals.
