Thermocouples

Thermocouples
Thermocouples

Thermocouples are devices that react on temperature variation by corresponding change of thermoelectric generated voltage at thermocouple junctions. Thermocouples are made of two different metal conductors joined at their ends. They are part of a system that uses the thermoelectric effect in order to measure temperatures. The thermoelectric effect results in voltage generation due to temperature difference between two junctions of different metals: a warm one (actually the very "core" of the sensor), under the influence of the operation temperature to be measured, and a cold one, at known, reference temperature. From the point of view of "voltage – temperature" characteristic curve (function), thermocouples are classified in several types: type J, type K, type S, type B, type D, type C, type R, type G, type T.

Dedicated junction boxes and other mounting elements are available.
Operation temperature range of thermocouples: -200°C ... 2300°C.
Diverse two-metal elements are used, corresponding to specific application.
The thermocouple system can be also delivered in ATEX design version, on demand.

APPLICATIONS
- industrial ovens (thermal processing / treatment, incinerators);
- industrial ovens for gas combustion;
- fusion baths and salt baths for metals and glass.
